Ask Someone Who's Been There

I interviewed Rob McAsey. He is a bail agent and he has been for the last fourteen years. He choose his occupation because he needed extra money. Financially it lets him live the way he wants to live. A reward that he has experienced being a bail agent is lots of excitment but sacrifices he makes are losing a lot of sleep and working 24 hours a week. I learned if you work as a bail bond you have to have a bail liscense and you have to be very committed. Rob had 8 hours of contin education each year. He has a lot of energy in his job because he loves it and he knows how to manage his sleep time. He has to be very organized because he needs to know where files, records, and bail agreements are. If Rob had to do it over agian he said he would choose this career agian because it is a fun and exciting job.

Lacy Lucchetti is a realestate agent. She has been working as a realestate agent for three years. Lacy choose her job because she wanted an opputunity to make better money. Her job doesn't let her live the way she wants financially because currently the market isn't good. Since her job doesn't pay as good as she wants she said if she works harder, put in more hours, and had more advertising she would get paid better. She has experienced many rewards though. Some rewards are good money and giving home buyers their keys to their new homes. She has sacrificed time away from her family because she sometimes works hours outside of monday through friday and eight a.m. to 5 p.m. If you want to be a realestate agent you need a realesate liscense through the state and a high school diploma. You also have to learn to jugle your clients and keep them happy at all times. You have to be very organized and you have to complete all files. Lacy said if she had to do it over again she would do the same job because she can make her own hours and as much money as she wants.

My mom, Stasi Carr, is an Insurance Agent. She has worked as one for twenty years. She choose her occupation because she needed a job. She started as a file girl and then got a liscense to sell insurance. Financially, her job lets her live the way she perfers. Two rewards that she has experienced are dealing with the public and helping people save money on insurance. Some sacrifices she has made are working a lot of hours and always having big challanges every day. To be an Insurance agent my mom had to have a high school degree and an Insurance Agent/Broker License. During work she must be patient accurate and through to keep her patients happy. She also must be very organized. She needs to be able to pull up someones file fast. If she had to do it over again she said she would still be an Insurance Agent because its never boring and she always busy.

After interviewing Rob, Lacy, and my mom I realized that if you do what makes you happy you will have a good life. All three of them love their job and wouldn't want to change anything about it. Lacy taught me that even if your job doesn't financially fight your needs you should still do it if you love it and work harder everyday so it will. Rob taught me that being something that has excitment pays off and never makes you bored. My mom taught me that if you have good energy then you can make people and clients at your work happy. All three of them are organized. It's a big part of their jobs and any other job. They need to know right where their files are and all their papers they did. Interviewing Lacy, Rob, and my mom make me want to find a good job that I love so I'll have a good, fun life.

The 6 E's of Excellence

To excel in your life you need the six E's of Excellence. If you have high standards and unusual efforts you will have excellence. Excellence requires you to be willing to work and to have ongoing commitment. If you have excellence you will be respected and you will feel statisfied with yourself.

Expectations
If you expect to be happy and sucessful you have a better chance of achieving your goals instead of the people who think it's not going to happen and don't expect to be sucessful. If you expect failure or a poor outcome that is probably what is going to happen. You should think positive about getting to wear you want to be and gaining excellence. You can't limit your expectations because it will be harder to excel.

Enthusiasm
Having enthusiasm is a good way to excel. If you love what your doing your enthusiasm will probably show more than some one who hates their job and what they do. If you want to be something but instead get another job you wont do as good in the job your doing than the one you wanted to do. If you do the job you want to do then you will probably be really good at it. Even if you don't like your job at the moment and you want a promotion or a change in it, having enthusiasm is still good to help you excel and get the job you were waiting for.

Energy
Energy is a big part of Excellence. You need energy to excel and get the job's done. You cannot be lazy to if you want to excel. If you are enthused about your job then you will most likely have energy and want to go do it. If you do not like your job you will probably not want to get out of bed in the morning and you will probably not be happy when you get there and not do any work. If you don't have any energy and you need to do work it is best to get the work done before you do anything else because then you don't have to worry about doing your work all day while your doing what you want to do.

Enterprise
You need to have a lot of enterprise to excel. Enterprise is working hard and taking calculated risks. You have to be adventerous and you have to know what to do in problem and how to handle it. You also need to know how to recognize problems and opportunities and to make the best of either situation.

Efficiency
Efficiency is really important. You need to be very efficent and on task. If your organized, gets things accomplished on time, and you have control of your life it will be easier to excel. If you are not organized you can lose stuff, not turn in projects on their due dates, and lose your career. If you are a car mechanic or a plumber you need to know where your tools are. Also if you are a docter you really need to be organized. If you are operating on a patient you should know where your tools are. If you are not organized you will not make it far in your job.

Ethics
You need to know what is right and what is wrong. You need to be able to stand-up for your beliefs and do what is right. Sometimes saying what you belive isn't efficent or easy and sometimes you can lose a friend from it but it's usually necessary. You have your own ethics. This is a part in your life that no one else but you can control. You should always do what your conscience says, it is never right to betry your conscience.

The six E's of Excellence is really important if you want to excel and have people respect you. You can go a long way in life if you use the six E's. In your life you should always to what you love. If you don't like your job then quit. You should'nt waste your time not doing what you love and not having excellence. If you follow the six E's you are most-likly going to excel.

Margaret Mead Quote

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; inded it's the only thing that ever has."

Margaret Mead (1901-1978), American Anthropoligist

I think this quote is true but not always. Small groups of committed citizens are not the only people that have changed the world. Many ciztens by themselves have changed the world in many ways. A lot of small groups of citizens have done most of the bad and good things that have changed the world, but Albert Einstein changed the world all by him self.

Eleanor Roosevelt Quote

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent"

-Eleanor Roosevelt

I agree with Eleanor Roosevelt's quote because its true, no one can make you feel lower without you agreeing to it and letting them. If you dont want people to make you feel inferior you shouldn't listen to them when they say stuff to make you feel low. This quote is also saying you should stick up for yourself and when some one is saying something mean or somthing that would make you feel inferior you should say something.

Grade Check

I have a 86.3% in Computer Careers.

In my last week of Computer Careers I plan to work hard and get up all my missing assignments so I have an A+ or at least an A.

My Ideal Self

My Ideal self would be an interior designer but when I have kids I'll be a stay at home mom and I would be married to a really nice husband. I would have six or seven kids. I want one girl and all the rest boys. I would live in the middle of no where in a big white house. There would be a porch going all the way around my house and a pond behind it. My ideal self would have 3 trucks and a corvette. I would have a big sunflower field and vineyards behind my house. When all my kids move out or grow up I'll get a job as an interior designer. I'll work until I'm too old to get up a stair case and then I'll retire and move to Hawaii.
